Weather Discs - Imagine Design Create Weather Words stamps

Today we welcome another member of our design team, the talented Kerry G.

Hiya all ….today I made a simple inspirational card using Weather Words by Imagine Design Create.

As soon as I saw the stamp designs I wanted to use them to show that even though things may be tough at the moment things always do get better eventually.

I like to mat my designs onto the card front so I started with a 7” x 5” card blank and another piece 6.5” x 4.5” card.

Firstly I die-cut four circles, any shape or shapes could be used.

First circle (storm): I stamped the lightening first using versamark clear then embossed it in silver, I then stamped the smallest cloud from the set in VersaFine Smokey grey, slightly overlapping the lightening and embossed in clear. Finally for the grey sky I gently used a blending tool with distress ink black soot.

Second circle (rain): I stamped the smallest cloud and the rain with Memento London Fog, then embossed in clear. For a greyish sky I used the blending tool again with London fog.

Third circle (cloudy): I stamped the smallest cloud in clear Versamark then embossed in white. For the clear sky I blended again with Memento Summer Sky.

Fourth circle: (sunny): I stamped the sun in VersaCraft Maize and clear embossed. Again I blended the background this time with Memento Bahama Blue

For the sentiment I slightly changed the format of the storm will pass stamp as I wanted a longer sentiment…I cut the stamp across the middle and set them next to each other on the block and stamped onto the 6.5” x 4.5” card using versafine onyx black, I then inked up only the final part of the things will get better quote to just get the “it can’t rain forever” and stamped underneath.

I used 3d foam pads to then attach the weather circles to the card just above the sentiment.

Then using a fine black liner pen I put a freehand border around the edge of the card.

Finally to finish off I layered the whole thing onto the front of the 7” x 5” card blank with 3d foam pads.

See you soon

Kerry x

You make it sound so easy. Lots of work gone into this and it looks fab. Love the sentiment too.
