Today, I wanted to show you how to make this poppy card from the Heart Mix stamp set.
Firstly, I began by randomly tearing a piece of copy paper and placing it on my card blank. From there, I used a stencil brush to apply peeled paint distress ink. When the base colour was down, I used a make up sponge to drag some more ink down from the copy paper to create some depth.
From there, I created the stem of the poppy by stamping the dots stamp from the block sentiments stamp set and the striped triangle stamp from the shape your world set with forest moss distress ink. I then added the circle in the middle of the flower using the solid circle from shape your world with black archival ink. From there, I stamped the dotty heart from heart mix with fired brick distress ink to create the base of the petals around the poppy.
Using the same dotty heart and distress ink from the base, I stamped some more and cut them out. From there, I used a ball tool and some foam to give shape to the petals.
After I had glued these petals down to create a full flower, I used tumbled glass distress ink and a stencil brush to sweep around in a circular motion around the flower, to create a soft vignette for the sky.
Finally, I stamped a sentiment from block sentiments to finish up the card…
Then mat and layered it. Using red card in your mat and layers really makes the petals stand out.
Thank you very much for popping by!
