80th Birthday with Doodle Flowers stamps
Posted on
Hello everyone, we have had a very special birthday in my family, my aunt turned 80, I had to make something special for her card. So out came my Imagine Design Create stamps and my distress oxides, and after a bit of a play this is what I came up with.
I started by picking 8 Distress Oxide colours that I grouped in to four sets of two as follows- Salty Ocean & Broken China, Fossilized Amber & Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry & Broken China, Cracked Pistachio & Twisted Citron. Using good white cardstock and the smooching technique with the Distress Oxide pairs I made four backgrounds ready for stamping with Imagine Design Create Doodle Flowers stamp set.
After my backgrounds had dried I stamped and embossed my Doodle Flowers and leaves in white, I knew this would then crack while I shaped my flowers, but I don’t mind a little distressing, if you don’t just use a good white stamp pad. I then shaped my flowers using my embossing ball tools and a little water sprayed on the back.
I faintly drew 80 on my white card background so I had a template for spacing. I played around with the flower and leaf placement till I was happy then glued them all down with silicon glue gel.
From some of the left-over flowers and Imagine Design Create Mini Grasses stamp set I also made this card.
I hope you have all enjoyed my blog today, I’m looking forward to sharing with you next week. Eli x
