Tulips titanic - repeat stamping & masking technique

Posted on

Helloo… from Lynn ???? I love the Tulips stamp set, designed by Claire. Its got a good size tulip (outline and infill) stamp, cute birds and sentiments. Who would have thought on first glance this image was the tulip head?

Tulips Titanic

I have created a project today that only used the outside line of the tulip head and I have repeat stamped and heat embossed to create this lovely large flower.

I used a stamping block and masked the lower section of the tulip before stamping onto my embossing ink pad. Remove the masking tape, stamp and heat emboss.  As the flower became larger I could do this process a few times before heat embossing, to save a bit of time.

To colour I used distress ink: scattered straw, abandoned coral, spiced marmalade, barn door and added some shimmer with gold gilding wax.

Sentiment 'Just a note' also from the stamp set, is white heat embossed onto velum and wrapped around the mat before adhering onto the card blank, so no adhesive is visible behind the velum.

I hope you join me next time ????
