Pop Up Box - using Birthday Fishes & Better at the Beach stamps

Hi it's Marcia here again

I thought I would make a pop up box for this blog.  I haven't made one in a while.

sea pop up box 1

To start with I took one A4 sheet of card and scored it on the long side at 7cm, 14cm, 21cm and 28cm. This leaves a short strip at the end which will be used to create a flap for glue.

I then scored down the short side at 11cm.  This last measurement denotes the height at which your box base will stand.

Once the scoring is complete I cut down between the score lines to the centre line to create the flaps.  Then I reinforced the score lines of the flaps.

Next I cut the paper for all the panels with a longer panel to go into the back of the box.

Inside the box I placed three strips of card which were cut at 11cm by 1.5cm.  Basically they were a 7cm strip with 2cm added either side for attaching to the sides of the box.

Now for the fiddly bit.  I stamped out my images on acetate and card, using embossing powder to give them a shine.  I then cut each one out.  A little tip for cutting out small images is to over colour the edges and any inner pieces so that the white doesn't show if you aren't exact..

I then attached a number of the prepared images to thin strips of acetate which I then attached to the inner strips of card.  I used the left over images to decorate the outside flaps.

I hope you like the finished product.
